Space Mountain Minimum height 1.32m, looping rollercoaster. Fastpass available. On-ride photo. Space Mountain is the most popular attraction in the park, in particular for adults. It is the fastest and most exciting ride in the Disneyland park, taking place completely in the dark. You ride in a 'rocket' train up the giant cannon Columbiad, which propels you into space (or at least, inside the dark space of the ride canopy). The idea for sending humans into space this way was envisioned by Jules Verne, who no doubt didn't expect it to become a popular theme park ride! The attraction isn't completely dark and empty - there are illuminated stars, asteroids, and a Moon. You get to see the train speed past you in the queue line, which is in tunnels inside the mountain itself. The on-ride photo is taken just before you enter the cannon - probably because the rest of the ride would be too fast to take a good photo!
