Phantom Manor

Up ] Big Thunder Mountain ] [ Phantom Manor ]

Certain scenes may frighten young children. Beware of the moving platform as you board the ride.

This haunted house experience is one of the most memorable attractions in the park. The official story behind the manor is ambiguous, but it was built by the founders of the mining town and is now haunted by 999 ghosts. The ride itself is gentle, but the many optical illusions are a feast to your eyes. In particular look out for the stretching lift (does it go up, down or stay still?), the dancing ghosts at the dinner party (how do they disappear?) and a mystery guest who appears next to you. Most importantly, how does all this fit inside such a small house? You should also enjoy the haunting soundtrack that changes into a comic song sung by ghostly heads. Despite the scary theme, Disney lets us experience the world of ghosts and the dead from a comic angle, which makes the ride ideal for adults and children. In the queue line outside have a look at the amusing tombstones. The queue may look long, but as the ride is on a continuous loop it should load quickly.
