The Fastpass system has significantly reduced the need to queue for many attractions, but there are still many occasions when you may find yourself queuing for up to an hour. Here are some activities to help pass the time.

Hidden Mickeys

In all Disney theme parks, it has become a tradition for Imagineers to incorporate a Mickey head (i.e. a round face with two large ears) into many subtle features of the park. There are several websites (try hiddenmickeys.org) that list hundreds of hidden Mickeys found in Disneyland Paris, but why not look for some yourself?  The whole resort looks like a hidden Mickey from the sky (each park forms an ear, and the hotels and Disney Village form the head), and there is another one formed by the position of 3 barrels next to Big Thunder Mountain. Some are harder to spot than others, so it should take up some time! Below is a photo of a hidden Mickey feature in the Walt Disney Studios.

Read your park map!

It may sound an obvious thing to do, but often in your rush to get around the park you don't get much chance to study the map properly. The most recent park maps inform you when the main shows are, which rides are the most suitable for young children, and where to eat if you are vegetarian or only have a few euros to spend. They also advertise other parts of the resort, such as 'Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show' in Disney Village. To avoid disappointment, make sure you read the rules/regulations and general information too - the park has a certain dress code which you may not be aware of otherwise.

Enjoy the pre-show

Many attractions, usually shows, have a pre-show to entertain you before the main attraction. In some rides this can be particularly impressive, such as the lifts in Phantom Manor or the 'spaceport' and druids in Star Tours. In my reviews of each attraction I have mentioned if the pre-show is particularly interesting. If there is no pre-show available, you may want to watch the ride itself. Whilst waiting for Space Mountain you get to see inside the large, dark canopy that houses the ride, and you get a good view of Big Thunder Mountain from its raised queue area.
